If the instructions do not specify a washing method, ask before adding water, soap or another cleaner. These handling tips do not mean a sealed squishy can be soaked, machine-washed, boiled or bleached. Do not open a filled design to clean it.
Match care to construction
- Filled / soft outer skin with fill: soft outer layer with a moving or moldable interior (examples: coconut-oil style balls, toothpaste jelly tubes, some apple variants).
- Foam or dense slow-rising bodies: often lighter; may have painted surfaces that wear differently from the core.
- Bottle or liquid-fill styles: follow the individual listing for seals, contents and handling.
- Painted or decorated surfaces: avoid abrasive scrubbing that can lift color or charms.
Filled and skin-based examples
In filled designs, the outer skin and the filling work together to create the squeeze.
- Coconut Oil Squishy: glossy, translucent, gooey ball with a non-rebound squeeze that can hold a dent. Care: keep away from sharp objects, excessive heat and rough surfaces; stop if the outer layer is damaged. It is a toy, not a food or skincare product.
- Slushy Apple Squishy: jelly, crunchy and moldable variants; not every option is slow-rising. Care emphasizes avoiding sharp objects, strong heat and harsh chemicals, and following item-specific notes.
- Toothpaste Squishy: clear jelly with glitter and charms in a toothpaste-inspired shell. Care: sharp objects, excessive heat, rough surfaces; stop if the outer layer becomes damaged. Do not open or swallow it.
For these styles, prioritize protecting the outer layer and seals. Ask for care instructions before attempting a deep clean.
Foam, painted and slow-rising bodies
Some squishies use foam cores and painted surfaces. Paint and coatings can show wear before the core does. Do not assume the same cleaning approach as a jelly-filled skin. If a listing gives care steps, follow those; if it does not, ask for a suitable cleaning method before using solvents or abrasive pads.
Slow-rising describes recovery speed after a squeeze. It is not a wash method. A slow-rising foam piece and a moldable filled ball can both feel soft yet need different caution.
Storage basics
- Keep cool and dry, out of prolonged direct sun and away from heaters.
- Keep sharp stationery, keys and rough zippers away from soft skins.
- Give soft or filled pieces space so they are not pressed under heavy objects.
- If an item has become damp, let it dry fully before storing.
When to stop using your squishy
Stop using a squishy if its outer layer is torn, leaking or otherwise damaged. A change in feel does not tell you whether a product can be repaired. Ask for item-specific advice rather than trying heat, glue or an improvised repair.

Can I wash every silicone squishy with soap and water?
No. Current LoveSquishy care copy for several filled styles does not prescribe a soap wash. Prefer the item’s own instructions. If you cannot find instructions, ask about your exact design before washing it.
What if my filled squishy feels tacky or picks up lint?
Check the product instructions before rubbing a tacky surface or applying a cleaner. If they do not cover lint removal, contact us with the product name so we can help with the correct design.
Is an initial smell after opening always normal?
Only the Toothpaste Squishy page explains a packaging-related case: sealed packaging glue can leave an initial odor after opening, and leaving the item in an open, ventilated space for a few hours may help that scent dissipate. That notice applies to that packaging explanation—it does not classify every odor on every product as glue scent or as a non-defect.
